This is the 8th GAP residency and consists of solo and collaborative studio time for the members; community workshops at low cost for Lecce artists; talks, demonstrations and presentations in area art schools, liberal arts colleges and secondary public schools by invitation. GAP is a multidisciplinary collaborative of 75 members working in 17 countries since 2013. GLOBAL ART PROJECT works inside and outside of the traditional gallery-museum system promoting the independent creative incentives of this artist-run international arts community. GAP VIII Lecce is particularly satisfying in that our last opportunity for a residency pre-pandemic took place in 2018-2019 in Dakar, Senegal at Espace Sobo Bade and the cancellation of the intended 2021 and 2022 residencies left doubts about the possibility of gathering again.
